Growing up in an artistic family in Los Angeles, Patrick McArthur gained a passion and ear for music at an early age. His first love was jazz, and throughout high school he played piano in a trio that performed his original songs at a number of jazz clubs in LA. Patrick’s playing quickly garnered attention; he picked up an LA Music Center Spotlight Award for jazz piano and also received an invitation to record with John Legend on the John Lennon Tour Bus.

With scholarship in hand, he went on to study his second love, film scoring, at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with honors. One summer between semesters, he received a slightly different education––playing keys in a theme park show called “Tropical Heat, Island Beat.”  This is where he gave in to the smooth-yet-potent lifestyle of Yacht Rock and tiki drinks.

Patrick went on to work as a dub engineer and composer at award-winning music production company, Elias Arts. There he wrote in diverse styles and genres, landing original placements for clients such as Chrysler, Honeywell, and TCM.

He then joined the MassiveMusic L.A. team as a staff composer. His skill set and voice continued expanding as he composed, produced, and curated music for brands such as Honda, Toyota, Proctor & Gamble, Kia, Taco Bell, and BMW.  His composition and orchestration for a European advertisement for Renault was recorded by the prestigious Metropole Orkest. Sound design, music, and identity all came together as he collaborated on numerous sonic branding projects for an array of global companies, including a sonic logo for NBCUniversal that can be heard on E! Network’s original series. In 2018, he received the “Rising Star” award from Shots, a global creative advertising platform.

He’s also worked on music for films, TV, documentaries, and trailers. A partial list: Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Disney+, Secrets of The Zoo: Tampa, Breaking Amish, Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER, Alaska Animal Rescue, Disappearance (2019), License to Operate (2015) and For The Love of Dirt (2020). As of now, Patrick manages his own creative shop, producing music in the comfort of his studio in West Hollywood, CA.
